by tuiss :: New patterned roman blinds

Our Cadence collection of roman blinds just grew a little with three gorgeous new patterned fabrics. So current with their floral designs we think they’ll look fantastic hanging in homes this autumn.

The blinds can be made with standard or black out lining, the choice is yours. These blinds also feature an ‘endless loop’ system making them so easy to raise and lower.

thursday thought by tuiss :: leaf mould

What to do with all the leaves falling off the trees at the moment? The easy way is to create leaf mould, sounds delightful doesn’t it?

The beauty of creating leaf mould is that you won’t fill your bin up with leaves and in a couple of years you will have the most fantastic peat like matter to dig back into your garden.

Quite simply put the leaves in a black bag, add some water and punch holes in the side. Leave in a corner of your garden and hey presto the magic will work. For more detailed instructions just visit Recycle Now or Compost Gardener.

by tuiss :: Grey blinds, sophisticated and cool

I blogged recently about the New Neutrals and literally the colour grey is everywhere. Part of grey’s beauty is its flexibility and adaptability, it works so well with so many different colours, from the brights to the pastels, and of course the neutrals.

Here at tuiss we have all shades of grey from the lightest such as the Bonne Nuit Grey Blackout roller blind through to the darkest Chenille Smoke roman blind. To get exactly the right shade of grey why not take advantage of next day sample service? Get all the grey you could ever want and choose the perfect shade at your leisure.

Here’s just nine of our grey blinds to get your mind thinking or take a look at Heal’s Grey Matters collection for a little more inspiration.

The tuiss Autumn / Winter lookbook is released

Last week we took delivery of our new Lookbook. We love it so much we actually had the front cover blown up onto a canvas (thanks to Canvas4life) and hung on the wall of one of the  offices. (The picture makes it look a little like we work out of a garage, we actually work out of a converted barn and the Creative’s office, where the picture is hung, is the old hayloft.)

Lookbooks are sent out with samples or to get inspired online take a browse through our ‘Get Inspired’ pages.

thursday thought by tuiss :: caring for hedgehogs this autumn

Slowly but surely autumnal days are creeping in, so my mind has turned to thinking about autumn, which inevitably leapt to leaves and then kind of inevitably leapt to hedgehogs.

Hedgehogs need our help, particularly in the colder months and it’s easier than you think to create a hedgehog friendly corner of your garden. You can even make or buy you own hoggy home to keep them safe and secure through the winter.

Take a look at the British Hedgehog Preservation Society or Snuffle Lodge, a hedgehog sanctuary based here in Nottingham, for hedgehog care advice.
