by tuiss :: New patterned blackout roller blinds

We have some new blackout roller blinds to tempt you! As always there’s something for every taste.

If you need a sumptuous look then we have just the thing with the Bellagio and Palazzo blinds. Each blind has a silken look and the Bellagio also features a raised flock design, perfect for creating an opulent feel.

We have some lighter feeling blinds too, the Shaolin with its Japanese feel and Embrace with its relaxed swirled design. The Lyriat range features an open leave and is very on trend. Don’t worry, they may look fresh but they will still block the light!

All of these blackout blinds feature a chrome chain and discrete tuiss branding, stylish touches that will make your blind that bit more special.

tuiss Love :: Kevin McCloud’s ‘Choosing Colour’ book

At tuiss we talk about colour a lot! On a personal level I write about colour a lot too as I get to write the descriptions for each of the blinds.

Always on the lookout for inspiration I couldn’t have been happier when Kevin McCloud’s wonderful ‘Choosing Colours’ book arrived at the office. It’s a book packed full of information and a whole host of palettes including natural ones, vibrant and period.

A powerful palette to my mind is a palette that’s not just a set of interesting or strong colours; it’s something that has its own identity above those colours which can trigger strong associations, sometimes in our subconsciousness, of a time or place or emotion.

Now where was I? Oh yes, ‘the lost colours of the Kalahari’ palette!

by tuiss :: Dandelion Clocks roller blind

Dandelion and seed-head designs are everywhere at the moment from home interiors to fashion, and soon in your garden too! Our dandelion clock roller blind is right on trend, the clocks are cast wildly across the fabric giving a wonderful fresh feel.

This design is available in six colourways. Breeze ticks the neutral box, Lust captures the red palette while Citrine is zingy with pops of lemon, raspberry and blue. Keeping it mono is Ash, blue is Marine and the Meadow toys with mustard, blue and chocolate.

Please feel free to view our entire range of rollers with patterns and remember we offer a next day free sample service. Here’s our clocks with some other clocks too…

by tuiss :: New patterned roller blinds

We have a spring in our step at the moment and can’t help but bring you new blinds! This week’s newbies are patterned roller blinds. Roller blinds are a very cost effective way of dressing the window and what’s more they look great too.

Pattern and design are an important part of creating a room’s look. Here’s an idea though, rather than committing to a wall with statement wallpaper a patterned roller blind can be a stylish alternative. It’s a quick way to add instant style to a room and if you fancy a change it’s a lot less messy than stripping wallpaper!

by tuiss :: New blackout roller blinds

Our collection of blackout roller blinds has grown a little with the addition of some great new shades. We’ve got brand new neutrals, try Poplin and Vanilla Ice, but we also have some new spring colours, buttercup and citronella and then some moodier colours such as toffee and black blackout blinds.

Blackout blinds are clearly going to be very useful in the bedroom for blocking out the morning sun, or even the afternoon sun if you’re a shift worker. These blinds are also a great option for a bathroom as they are 100% polyester so suitable for steamy environments plus they will keep it very private, no silhouettes here!

All tuiss roller blinds are finished with an aluminium chain which is a stylish finishing touch. We have a fantastic range of roller blinds so please do visit tuiss to view the entire collection. (Remember we have a next day free sample service too!)

by tuiss :: Orange blinds

This season orange is making a comeback. The key to using this vibrant colour is to use it sparingly and mix it in with lots and lots of white.

Orange is a feisty customer that’s zesty and bursting with energy and we have plenty of orange blinds that will help you to get right on trend. Choose from the softer end of the spectrum, maybe the Supremo Pesca roller blind, through zesty with Oscura Tang and deep with Connecticut Russet.

Click through to the tuiss website to see even more orange choices and feel free to use the colour selector to zoom straight into orange heaven!

by tuiss :: Helena Karelson window blinds

We are extremely excited and proud to announce the launch of our exclusive Helena Karelson collection. Estonian born Helena has already created quite a buzz on the interior design scene and has won several design awards including the D&AD New Blood award in 2009 and New Design Britain award in 2010.

The collection aptly entitled Horizon is inspired by the line between the earth and sky. Choose from venetian blinds and roman blinds and prepare to be a little bit different!

“This collection was inspired by the relationship between textures and colours that would complement each other and create a poetic and interesting interior. The collection strives to provide simple but effective window treatments with eye-catching design.”

Thursday thought by tuiss :: Corded telephones

Last week we blogged about getting nostalgic so when I across this little idea it was quite serendipitous!

What about swapping your cordless phone for a traditional corded variety? These phones are infinitely more stylish than a new fangled one, don’t require a separate plug-in for electricity and don’t use energy all day long. It’s a no-brainer for any stylish home-owner!

p.s. – It just goes to show if you hang on to anything long enough it’ll come round again!

Thanks to tiny choices.
