tuiss loveNone such things is somewhere ‘between a blog and a shop’ and is a place to find ‘lovely things made by some really fabulous people’.

Amanda the site owner posts a small number of items for sale and when they’re gone they’re gone.

At the moment there’s porcelain keys, pretend petit fours, lace cuffs and a heart bracelet. It’s a wonderful place to visit for a look at the quirky and eclectic. tuiss recommends!

This is an easy one to do and quite satisfying, if a little stomach curdling on occasions!

Pouring fat down the plug hole is a quick way to block pipes and sewers. Rats are attracted to the fat too so it’s a quick way to encourage them to a drain near you!

Instead pour the fat into a fat trap and dispose of the fat in your bin. The original fat trap is reusable but there’s also a disposable paper version too. Alternatively fill a yogurt pot or margarine tub.

Fat traps are available from Less Mess or free from your local water authority.

Spring has finally sprung and it puts me in the mood for light bright and breezy blinds.

What better choice than the Broderie Chic roller blind, its eclectic mix of cool grey, warming russet, pink and green in such a cheerful design brings the outside inside beautifully.

Yet another two pair of wellies have bit the dust in our household with a hole in the side. Never fear, there’s no need to send them straight to land fill, here’s a fun idea from Condo Blues to upcycle ‘had it’ wellies, a funky planter for the garden.

In doing a little research I also came across Smile Plastics who recycle wellies into all manner of different products, here’s a reception desk made from wellies and the odd mobile phone cover!

tuiss Love :: Byfords in Holt, Norfolk

This is a personal recommendation from me to you.

I visited Holt in Norfolk a couple of months ago and happenedtuiss love across the most fabulous of places, Byfords, an eatery, deli and ‘posh’ b&b all rolled into one. In their words  “A higgledy piggledy world of pleasure.”.

We sampled the lunchtime menu downstairs in the cellar. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating, so child friendly too. On the way out it’s almost impossible not to be tempted by the deli, for us it was two pasties for tea!

If tuiss was a place to sit back and relax then I think it would look very much like Byfords. If you’re ever in that area it really is worth a detour.
