by tuiss :: Metal Venetian Blinds

Long gone are the days when the choice of a venetian blind was limited to a simple silver slat. There are now so many options available to the discerning consumer. (That’s you by the way!)

We have six different venetian blind collections, let me take you by the hand and explain it all…

  • Concept :: Featuring a 25mm slat, this collection has all the colours you could wish for from cool and warm toning neutrals to bold and punchy colours to add drama.
  • Tempo :: Available in classic colours for a fabulous look Tempo has a wide 50mm slat.
  • Mondo :: The Mondo is all about the tapes which are a wonderful finishing touch, these blinds are available in 25mm (Brevis) and 50mm (Maxim).
  • Fusion :: Unique to tuiss is Fusion, the perfect fusion of 25mm (Brevis) or 50mm (Maxim) aluminium slat teamed with a solid wood valance and bottom bar plus cotton tapes.
  • Helena Karelson :: For something out of the ordinary this collection features a main body of colour plus a band of differing colour.
  • Patrizia Gucci :: Featuring an exclusively branded cotton tape and wooden trims.
  • Aluminium Venetian Blinds :: Timeless and classic silver.

Venetian blinds become very popular at this time of the year. The sun comes out and people try their best to find a solution to shade their rooms. Venetian blinds are a wonderful for this; they can be fully or partially closed and of course they can be raised and lowered too. Endless options for both shade and privacy.

Choosing between a 25mm and 50mm slat is a matter of personal taste and preference. The wider 50mm slat allows more of an unhindered view to the outside and when closed there are obviously less tape holes than a 25mm so are able to offer more of a blackout.

As for tapes, again it’s personal choice, the tapes cover the tape holes making the blind more blackout and also give the blind a softer look.

tuiss Love :: DriDri Gelato

Here at tuiss we’re always loving things that we can see. Can we love something that we can’t really see and haven’t tasted either?

I’m not sure we can but to be honest I’m so head over heels in love with DriDri ice-cream that I’m bestowing ‘tuiss Love’ anyway! The gelato is made fresh everyday and to original Italian recipes, ummm, ummm. If I’m ever down Portobello Road I’m popping in….

A perfect tuiss Love for this gorgeous weather we’re having.

If you want a review from somebody who’s actually tasted the ice-cream take a look at Time Out or Hg2.

by tuiss :: Oriental blinds

If you want to create a calm and restful space then taking a tip or two from the Orient may well be the way to go. Of course if you opt for black and red plus lots of lacquered furniture it may be a little less than restful!

The tranquillity of the Orient is so easy to conjure, think chrysanthemums, gently bowing cherry blossom, lilies and maybe an orchid or two.

We have a number of blinds that are full of eastern promise and will help you create a beautiful space. Make sure to browse the tuiss website as there are other gems tucked away that you can discover…

tuiss Love :: Birdy fabric mobile

Ages ago we blogged about giving the Women’s Institute the fabric samples that we no longer needed so that they could get creative.

I spotted this idea and just thought it was worth sharing. It’s a mobile made from scraps of old fabric, what a thoughtful present for a new-born baby. And birds are just so now!

A lovely idea courtesy of Small.

by tuiss :: Floral roman blinds with a touch of nostalgia

Soft floral designs with a nod to nostalgia are big in the shops right out. I really enjoyed putting this blog together. In fact, who wouldn’t when you’re dealing with such gorgeous fabrics and other bits too.

Here’s some of beautiful tuiss roman blind and roller fabrics, all of which are right on trend and we’ve mixed in some equally lovely bits too.

I hope you like!
