tuiss Loves :: Sarah Hough

Artist Sarah Hough starts each day by walking her dogs and taking in the beautiful English countryside. She shares what she sees with a quick daily sketch on her blog, how wonderful to be so talented and so generous with those talents. To get a daily sketch straight to your inbox simply subscribe to the newsletter.

By posting these sketches, I hope to offer a momentary pause in busy daily lives and a visual link with nature and the great outdoors, perhaps even bringing a breath of fresh air to brighten up your day.

Cows having breakfast

Up early this morning and tried to have a little chat with the cows over the hedge, but they were a bit too preoccupied with eating their breakfast.

tuiss Loves :: Vintage by Hemingway

Vintage by Hemingway is a stroll back in time to when life was maybe a little less hectic and dresses were definitely more dressy! If you like your colour palette a bit retro and your accessories kitsch then Vintage by Hemingway is absolutely for you.

As collectors and scholars of the history of 20th Century creativity from music, fashion, film, art and design to food we are constantly inspired by this wealth of creativity. Vintage by Hemingway is our tribute to the cultural movements of the 20th Century. From our Vintage inspired product ranges to the magical Vintage Festival. Vintage by Hemingway celebrates the wonderful legacy that has been left to us and reinterprets it for the 21st century.

The Vintage products are a mixed bunch from wallpaper to murals as well as bits and pieces for the kitchen and bathroom. Not satisfied with just selling authentically inspired vintage products Hemingway also organise vintage festivals too. Any plans for 27-28 July yet? See you in Glasgow!

tuiss Loves :: Rory Dobner

A graduate of Fine Art, Rory Dobner’s beautiful, wonderful and almost always humorous line drawings are fantastic. We particularly like this monocled cat cushion, but there is something for every animal lover, or indeed lover of the ‘quirky’ in his collection. From pesky pigeons to mischievous monkeys as well as the occasional slippery fish, we hope you’ll love his work too.

tuiss Loves :: Richard Brendon

Richard Brendon is the designer responsible for these absolutely gorgeous ceramics with their quirky take on traditional style. Having achieved a cult following we’re pretty sure that these willow pattern ceramics will be everywhere very soon.

By photographing details from old pieces of Willow Pattern crockery, he has created ceramic transfers, which are applied to fine bone china and produced in Stoke-on-Trent. The small, familiar details ensure this china is at home in a country cottage, where it evokes a sense of nostalgia, as well as a modern city apartment, where the simple circular details set against brilliant white china brings a reassured sense of style.

tuiss Loves :: Thornback & Peel

Thornback & Peel take inspiration from all sorts of places but I think my favourite one has to be Mr McGregor’s garden! There’s something about this rabbit bounding through some scrumptious cabbages that makes me smile.

Inspired by an eclectic mixture of Victoriana, Mrs Beeton’s household management, Mr McGregor’s garden, 17th century microscope imagery of the natural world, Norfolk and Devon. Thornback & Peel is a celebration of the quirkiness of British humour and design.

tuiss Loves :: The Shop at Number 57

Named after their home at number 57 this online shop is full of charm and style. For a relaxed and wondrous place to meander we can’t recommend The Shop at Number 57 enough. tuiss really loves!

So what is it we love… Well we love industrial vintage style & all things British. Our range is a mix of old, new & re-purposed items. We love nothing more than to Re-discover unloved pieces, transforming forgotten treasures from the past into stylish accessories for the modern home…

tuiss Loves :: Pale and Interesting

If there is one thing a tuiss customer loves is ‘pale and interesting’ with maybe a little grey or taupe thrown in for good measure! It follows that tuiss customers should love the Pale and Interesting website as much as we do!

Pale & Interesting is a life-style shopping experience. Inside this site you will find furniture, accessories, jewellery and books all chosen or designed by Atlanta and Dave, inspired by their love of the functional, beautiful and out-of-the-ordinary. Their philosophy is all about mixing it up, teaming old with new, contrasting rough with smooth and pairing femininity with utility. The look is definitely non-prescriptive, a backlash against against accepted ‘good-taste’ and bland mass-production. Here time worn furniture is loved for it’s signs of wear and tear, handcrafted objects adored for their individuality, utilitarian items celebrated for their functionality and personal touches are considered essential to keep your home fresh, lively and relevant to you.

tuiss Loves :: Fuff Stuff

Fuff Stuff is quirky and very pigeon orientated! Based in Essex right next to the sea their love of pigeons and the odd sea-gull is entirely understandable. The online shop has an eclectic collection of button badges, shopping bags and cups. It is very fuffy indeed!

Fuff is all about bringing bright and vibrant design to simple everyday items that make useful and unique gifts.

Our estuary location inspires many of our illustrations and designs, which often feature the Fuff Pigeon and other Fuff Birds.

p.s. I’m going to steal the word fuff and use it all for myself. I love it!
