We’ve been running a wee competition with Prima magazine to win some window blinds. Never ever, ever did we expect the sheer number of postcards to hit our doorstep though! Nor did we expect the wonderful variety of postcards, even home-made ones that play tunes!

Designing spaces with neutral relaxed colours remains one of the most popular decorating trends. Indeed our most popular window blinds are always in that palette, call them what you will, cream, ecru, buff, beige, sand, jute or brown, we have them all!

We have teamed up with environmental charity Landlife and are giving away 1,000’s of free wildflower seed packs to customers who order a blind sample. The complimentary seeds are available from April 1st, until our stocks last.
Supporting the Landlife charity project very much fits with our company touchstone of Greener by Nature and it’s a chance for tuiss customers to return a little bit of their gardens to the wild. The selection of seeds is beautiful including Poppies, Marigolds, Cornflowers, Corn Cockles and Chamomile and can be sown in April and May for a blaze of summer colour .

Here in Nottingham it’s snowing and my head is turning to making my home as warm and cosy as possible. I have my eye on the Eclipse NRG15 Cream thermal roller blind for the coldest room in our house, I just need to locate the tape measure!
Naturally my head then turned from my home and the 2cm of snow we have to igloos. A quick Google later and I was happily surfing images of ‘cool’ igloos on GrandShelters.com. Personally I think that this igloo is crying out for an energy efficient NRG blind. Here at tuiss our green team has just completed the Carbon Trust’s Energy Walk Around checklist. We’ve decided that purchasing some radiator panels is the way forward, particularly for our customer services office where the wind whips up the hill straight onto the wall!
Placing a radiator panel behind a radiator ensures that the heat doesn’t disappear into the wall but instead gets circulated into the room. Pay back is estimated at just under a year. What a no-brainer!
