By tuiss :: Toile de jouy patterned roller blinds

We have two gorgeous roller blinds in a traditional toile de jouy pattern, one is a fresh apple green, the toile green and the other is classic wedgewood blue. These blinds have a timeless quality to them and their classic delicate colouring will work fantastically well in so many settings.

Obviously such stylish blinds will add that little touch of ‘je ne sais quoi’ to an already elegant and charming room but what about using them cleverly in a more modern setting? Each of the blinds will add a quirky touch to a more modern room.

Toile GreenToile Wedgewood

Toile de Jouy originated in France in the late 1700s and literally means “cloth from Jouy-en-Josas” and refers to a fabric design that has a repeated pattern in a single colour, usually depicting a fairly complex pastoral scene. The fabric design remains popular, often with a modern twist in contemporary colours, take a look at these pieces, there’s something for everyone’s taste.

by tuiss :: Roller blinds with stripes

Stripes are always a popular design choice, adding stripes at the window with a stripey roller blind gives a superb look, the stripes marry so well to the straight lines of the window.

So why are stripes such a favourite?

  • They are a fantastic way of adding interest to a room, launch them into a plain room for instant design impact.
  • Such an easy way to tie a scheme of colours together.
  • Stripes needn’t always be formal, they can also be soft and flowing, just choose the right stripe for the room.

We have a great range of blinds with stripes, some are a classic stripe, take a look at the Banda range, while the Astria range in voile gives a light organic feel.

A designer tip is to put stripes against a single block colour, this makes the stripes stand out and also ensures that it’s not too busy.

This is the perfect blind where plain white would be just too stark. Embrace Vanilla is a beautiful option with its soft cream background and discrete flowing design picked out in taupe.
