tuiss Love :: DriDri Gelato

Here at tuiss we’re always loving things that we can see. Can we love something that we can’t really see and haven’t tasted either?

I’m not sure we can but to be honest I’m so head over heels in love with DriDri ice-cream that I’m bestowing ‘tuiss Love’ anyway! The gelato is made fresh everyday and to original Italian recipes, ummm, ummm. If I’m ever down Portobello Road I’m popping in….

A perfect tuiss Love for this gorgeous weather we’re having.

If you want a review from somebody who’s actually tasted the ice-cream take a look at Time Out or Hg2.

tuiss Love :: Birdy fabric mobile

Ages ago we blogged about giving the Women’s Institute the fabric samples that we no longer needed so that they could get creative.

I spotted this idea and just thought it was worth sharing. It’s a mobile made from scraps of old fabric, what a thoughtful present for a new-born baby. And birds are just so now!

A lovely idea courtesy of Small.

tuiss Love :: Betsy Jarvis

Betsy Jarvis is hand-crafted and vintage inspired, and we love!

There are lots of lovely cushions and lavender filled pillows and all the fabrics used have to pass the “yummy scrummy to the eye test”…. The website is worth a visit, it’s like hot chocolate on a cold day, it will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. Fantastic blog too.

Betsy Jarvis is a fresh young company based in rural Lincolnshire, we create and hand craft quirky designs often with a sprinkle of Scandinavian influence, sometimes we add a dash of shabby chic essence, other times it will be a pinch of rustic charm, but always without fail we add the most important and essential ingredient that being a generous helping of care and attention to detail.

p.s. There are some gorgeous ‘love’ themed items, perfect as a quirky and unusual wedding gift.

tuiss Love :: Pinterest

How appropriate that we’re bestowing our tuiss Love on Pinterest, the place to pin forever the things that you love!

If you have a little time on your hands set up an account and have loads of fun pinning and re-pinning your favourite images from the Internet. If you’ve less time just browse the already lovely collection on Pinterest…

Think of Pinterest as a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of things you love and “follow” collections created by people with great taste.

tuiss Love :: Kevin McCloud’s ‘Choosing Colour’ book

At tuiss we talk about colour a lot! On a personal level I write about colour a lot too as I get to write the descriptions for each of the blinds.

Always on the lookout for inspiration I couldn’t have been happier when Kevin McCloud’s wonderful ‘Choosing Colours’ book arrived at the office. It’s a book packed full of information and a whole host of palettes including natural ones, vibrant and period.

A powerful palette to my mind is a palette that’s not just a set of interesting or strong colours; it’s something that has its own identity above those colours which can trigger strong associations, sometimes in our subconsciousness, of a time or place or emotion.

Now where was I? Oh yes, ‘the lost colours of the Kalahari’ palette!

tuiss Love :: Roost Living

It’s been a busy time here at tuiss with the launch of so many gorgeous new blinds. I could blog endlessly about our Harlequin roman blinds or beautiful digitally printed roller blinds but I guess it’s about time for some tuiss Love!

Here we have Roost Living, an online boutique offering an unusual selection of home accessories chosen from small manufacturers around the UK.  I couldn’t resist the gold finch or the delicate lacy cake stand. Gorgeous photography too.

We offer a lovely shopping experience, selling unique and handcrafted products that arrive beautifully packaged with the utmost care and attention.

tuiss Loves :: Mr and Mrs House

Mr and Mrs House is home to lovely things for lovely people. These original cushions are just great and they can be found in the arty section but be sure to check out nifty, silly or smelly! The orange and brown cushions are made from original 1970s printed cottons which were hidden away on the top shelf of an Italian warehouse. We love!

By the way if you’re liking the spotty cushion (which is also a 70s original) then take a look at our Discus Wild Lime roman blind. Just the ticket!

tuiss Love :: Atlantic Blankets

From mohair to aran, knee blankets, throws and baby blankets, the Atlantic Blanket company is a real find.

The company was borne out of a mother’s quest to find a blanket for her daughter when she was ill. (I still have fond memories of our crocheted ‘sick’ blanket seeing me through a bout of whooping coughs!) Finding herself empty handed Atlantic Blankest was conceived.

Take a peek at their website for gorgeous blankets and the most beautiful photography too.

Soft, warm, luxurious and practical, in a mouth watering range of colours and textures, our top quality products will provide you with years of delight and scores of special memories.
