tuiss Love :: Marram Studios

I love stumbling across gems on the internet and Marram Studios in Orkney is one of them. The studio is all about printed textiles inspired by nature, in fact the studio name is taken from the marram grass which grows on the sandy shores in Orkney.

Each design is hand-printed in small limited runs in the studio workshop, using high quality natural materials such as silk, linen, cotton and wool. I want one of everything!

tuiss Love :: Luna

true-love-smallWe thought we should spread our tuiss Love to one of our favourite Nottingham shops. Luna is THE place to go for retro and vintage furniture, its been on the same site for 20 years so it’s almost an institution in itself. So, if names like Ercol, Panton, Eames and G Plan trip off your tongue it’s a must visit.

The staff at Luna are all very knowledgeable and ready to help, so if you are after 50s, 60s or 70s furniture we do recommend you visit. Just take a look at the shop below, “why wouldn’t you” is all we can say!

If there’s one way of livening up any room, it’s with some vintage furniture.

tuiss Love ::Niki Jones

For Niki Jones it’s all about the story. All of the pieces on the Niki Jones website are impeccably sourced and with their own unique story. It’s also about keeping the old crafts alive so there’s plenty of hand embroidery, rug making as well as more unusual crafts such as bone inlaying.

Check out Niki’s website for hand painted furniture, wonderful Moroccan pieces and bedding to name just three. If you want something a little different, with a story to match then we heartily recommend Niki Jones.

tuiss Love :: Anthropologie

I have a long list of tuiss Love’s and Anthropologie has been on there for a while. Flicking through this month’s Elle Decoration however I spotted this amazing picture that I just had to share (and hence Anthropologie made it to the top of the pile!). The chair is fashioned from colourful macrame and is perfect for warm summer days and preferably in a Moroccan type setting!

Anthropologie is a hip American retailer offering over 200 women’s fashion brands as well as homeware. The London outlet on Regent Street includes a vertical climbing garden which dominates the sweeping retail space, incorporating 18,000 plants. Worth a visit for gawp factor alone!

Anthropologie offers a one-of-a-kind and compelling shopping experience that makes women feel beautiful, hopeful and connected. Complex as you are, you remain our inspiration and because of this, we endeavour to bring you an unimagined experience

tuiss Love :: Abigail Ahern

Abigail Ahern is a stylist and interior designer with a mix and match style all of her own. Abigail is often inspired by Alice in Wonderland and loves to play and experiment with scale.

Abigail’s blog is a fantastic way to get a peek into her eclectic vibe and make it seem all very obtainable in your own home. Be just like Abigail and throw the rule book out, just be careful of creating a junk shop look though…..unless that’s just the look that you were after of course!

My interior style is… really eclectic. I try and throw the rule books out and play with different periods, textures and styles. Experimenting and playing with colour is a huge part of my style.

tuiss Love :: Alyssa Ettinger

tuiss Love is drawn to ceramics, remember the seed safe, notepad or the keys we’ve blogged about?.

Here it’s all about Alyssa Ettinger who threw her first pot at summer camp when she was 14-years-old. Alyssa works out of a studio in an old warehouse in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. She’s branched out to include slip-casting and hand-building in her designs.

We love the knitted look on the vase and the homely light cast by the votives is a simple but beautiful sight.

tuiss Love :: Newbloodart

Newbloodart is undiscovered art online. The website features artwork from artists at the start of their career so pieces are reasonably priced from £50, and for bigger pockets, up to £3000.

All artistic medias are featured including photography, drawings, oils, charcoal and sculpture. The great thing about this site is that you can search for art by price, size, media as well as subject. And there are some gorgeous pieces of art too!
